Officer Next Year? We Will See How This Turns Out

This year has been a struggle office wise for Max. I have tried really hard to teach both my kids to accept all people, and to know everyone has strengths and weaknesses. They get it. They are most of the time better at it than I am. However, there is a point where you have to fight for you and are safer to walk away. We have had to have unfortunate conversations I would have preferred not to have had in regards to one officer in particular. You have to respect them as a person, and putting up with someone because you can't get them out of your life is hard. BUT it is REALLY HARD TO CHOOSE to be with a hard personality type person because you don't want them to have the power to take something good away from your life. That is where Max is sitting right now. That is the decision he has in front of him.

For the last little while, Max has been wavering on whether to run for office again or not, and because he is going to be a senior, there are more options available to him. I kept trying to convince him to go for Student Body, because 1). there are more scholarship opportunities, and 2). he wouldn't have to do reunions for the rest of his life. Then the girl he does not want to be in office with again decided to run for Student Body, and his decision was made. He would run for senior class, but when everything was turned in, she had switched to senior office AND  Max was out of there fast. He asked to move to the Student Body election. the adviser begged him to please stay with the senior side of things, but she will support Max's decision. So Max has a difficult decision to make. Sometimes the wrestle to know what is right is hard. I believe in you Max. Do what is right for YOU!!
