Sharing - Personal Blessings
In all the hubbub of my life, I neglected to write down an experience that Jacey had that was pretty amazing, and before I forget about it I would like to share.
A few weekends ago, Jacey had her scooter accident. (That I documented.) While she was very upset because of her circumstances, and the fact that Nutcracker tryouts were the very next day, she was talking to a friend who also was going to tryout. This good friend of hers told her she should get a priesthood blessing. Jacey told her that was a good idea. The only problem was that Gregg was not home. (Campout) This friend's dad was also not home to help out. (Work) So we thought about who we could turn to for help. We called my sister, and asked if Doug and Kaden were around to help her. (Doug was, but Kaden was called home from a date.)
Kaden gave Jacey the most beautiful blessing from her Heavenly Father. He told her that because it was important to Jacey, it was important to her Heavenly Father, and that she has worked hard to get to this point. He also blessed her with the ability to not have her foot bother her during her tryouts.
So fast forward to the next day. . .
Jacey woke up and got ready for her audition. She took off the bandage as much as was needed to get it into her toe shoe, took some pain killers and headed off to the dance studio with her foot killing her.
I didn't worry about her. I knew her Heavenly Father was going to help her, and that she would do just fine.
Afterwards, Jacey relayed to me that she couldn't walk on her foot. She was limping along learning the routines, but when she went to tryout... miracles happened AGAIN. She danced without noticing her injured foot. In fact she commented that the leg with the injured foot, which is usually her weaker leg, was stronger than her other one. She felt that she was able to give it her very best. As soon as she left the floor though, she could not put weight on her foot, and she would hobble again learning the next routine. Every time she had to perform, the same miracle happened.
Jacey did not make Nutcracker this year, but because of her blessing and witnessing miracles, she also knew that it was okay. She did not feel the weight of disappointment. Yes, she was sad, but she realized that there is another plan for her, and she is getting used to trusting the Lord.
I asked my sister after the blessing if she could see the hand of the Lord more in the lives of her children than in her own life. She responded, "Absolutely." Why is it that we don't readily see just how much the Lord wants to bless us?
Wow princess. Being your mom has taught me so much. I really do feel like I am the blessed one to be able to watch you get to wherever it is you are going. You are so very beautiful on the inside. Never give up or dim your heart. Those people lucky enough to know you are definitely better because of you.
