Last Night the Bourrée Queen Dominated the Stage
It is a well known fact that when you go to a dance recital for your daughter, you only have eyes for her. You do not see all the other dancers on the stage. This fact alone, made Jacey dominate the stage, but Jacey was actually the centerpoint of her dance. This was because she happens to be the tallest. I guess this is one of the perks of being tall. There was a cool part of the dance where Jacey circled in and the other girls spiraled in after her. Then while the other dancers performed another dance move Jacey bourréed acrossed the entire stage. Dana, my cute dance friend held her breathe the entire time and after she was done, turned to me with excitement in her voice and exclaimed, "She did it. She was amazing."
For those of you who don't know what a bourrée (boo-ray') is, it is a dance step that she performed on-pointe (on the box of her toe shoes), whereby the first leg pulls the other leg in tightly - in very small and quick steps, and she did this while moving across the whole stage.
Jacey knew at this point of the dance everyone would be looking at her and she was nervous that she would slip and fall. She did not. She performed beautifully! You could tell that she has worked really hard to improve this past year. Well done Lady P.
