"This show contains Jr. High boys going through puberty. Be Nice!"

How are we doing on the tan?

Last night was the opening night of Aida, and at the last minute Jacey asked me to come.  I have tickets for Friday and Saturday night, but Jacey wanted someone there for opening night.  So I went.

It was very well done.  I told Jacey and Kate when we got to the car afterwards that the whole production was amazing, and the only thing wrong with it couldn't be helped.   Everytime a boy would sing, you would cringe inside.  They are teenage boys growing up, and their voices are changing.  You have to give them credit for even being up there on stage knowing that they sound awful.  Jacey and Kate both said that the main lead sounds better now than he did when they first started.  There is even a disclaimer on the program that says, "This show contains Jr. High boys going through puberty.  Be Nice!"

Maddie, the girl that played Aida, simply had an amazing voice, and Celeste who played Amneris also did very well.

I loved watching Jacey on stage.  She did a wonderful job, and looked fabulous.  She has put in a lot of hours to get ready for this, and it is fun to have it all come together.  Way to go Jacey.

Jacey had luck on her side with regards to the play and ballet.  After all the stress and drama about the conflict between the two, she will only miss one dance practice.  Not bad Lady P.  See sometimes life does work out in your favor.
