Life's Lessons

Sometimes life can be hard.  Sometimes you have to work at something that you really want.  Sometimes there are disappointments. Sometimes you have to accept defeat.

But sometimes. . . you get a new beginning.

I decided before Christmas that the pointe shoes we originally bought for Jacey were just not right.  No amount of heating, cooling, bending, or breaking in was going to help.  They just weren't the shoe to help her get to where she needs to be.  Part of the problem is Jacey's alone, but a big part is her shoes.  To sum it up, when asked if she needed to get approval on another pair of shoes, her teacher just said, "Don't get THOSE again."

I took her to the store today to buy some new pointe shoes.  She knew immediately which shoe she wanted, and from the moment she put them on, she had a new excitement.  These shoes were more comfortable, they helped her get up over her box, and all the way home she kept telling me thank you.

You are welcome Lady P.  Sometimes it brings me a lot of joy to be able to give you something that means so much to you.  Cost is not a factor.  Wouldn't you know, they were the most expensive pointe shoe in the store?  I guess our want list won't get any shorter for a while.

You can tell that she is closer to getting up over her box with the newer shoes.  She still has some work to do, but now she also has a renewed sense that her efforts might eventually pay off.
